Most important and neglected commandment
I think that the commandment that is most important and the yet still the most neglected is the commandment that states, “thou shall not kill.” This is the most important commandment because it is another person’s life and no one has the right to decide whether or not you can take a person’s life unless that person is attempting to take someone else’s life or already has. It is also most important because someone’s life is the most valuable thing that one has. Everyone has the right to enjoy their life, so for someone to end it is wrong, only God should be able to decide when a life is to be ended. It is also the most neglected, especially in the U.S. This U.S. leads the world with the most murders by hand guns. Too many people take other’s lives without a legitimate cause or reason. People kill other people to rob them, or for saying something disrespectful to them, or fighting with them, and this just doesn’t make sense and too many people are being murdered all around the world. People need to earn things instead of taking shortcuts by killing someone and taking property of theirs. People need to remember that they cannot be in charge of ending someone else’s life. Much of the public has also become desensitized to things such as violence, murder and death, and this is definitely for the peoples in our culture and in the world. More people need to remember the sixth commandment.
