Most important teaching

For me the most important teaching that is also the most neglected is the teaching of, “blessed are the meek, for shall they inherit the earth.” This teaching means that the poor and oppressed shall inherit the earth. This means that God recognizes the poor and the meek, and the ones who have less than everyone else are the ones that are seen in God’s eyes as blessed. Now and days people care too much about all of the money that they can make and all the material items that they as an individual have. People need to care more about the poor and their own well being. God goes on to say in the Bible that it is harder for a camel to fit through an eye of needle than for a rich man to get into heaven and I believe that this line ties into this teaching. However, one forgets about the meek and poor now, more people need to give away their own possessions. Today our culture is one that is very materialistic and that’s why I think that it is obvious that this is the most neglected teaching. I believe that this is the most important teaching because, it is clearly telling us as people how to get into heaven and who God is blessing and if people truly wanted to reach the kingdom of God then they would follow this teaching and recognize the meek and not try and be so materialistic and capitalistic. There is a whole belief on this called Liberation Theology.
