Thou shall not kill...

The most improtant and most neglected commandment of all the commandments is thou shall not kill. God is the only one that has the power to create and deystroy human life and when humans take the power of god and kill other humans that is the biggest sin you can make. It is not a hard commandment to follow, but still anytime you look in the paper or you turn on the news there are people that have been murdered. Life is the most valuable object that all humans have and no one should be able to take that gift from you except for god. Abraham in Genesis even argues with god about killing the innocent that live in Sodom just because of the few in the city that sin. Also in The Epic of Gilgamesh, the taking of Endidu's life is disputed because even though he particitpated in the killing of the bull of heaven and Humbaba he is an innocent mortal. It is the most important of all the commandments because of how fragile and imprtant life is.
However, even this is the most important of the commandments it is the most neglected by humans. Everyday humans are murdered by other humans and at a very high number. People become enraged whenever killing occur, but it still occurs. There are even youth that decide to break this commandment in school shootings. Last year a VT student decided to go into one of the halls and go to every class room and just shoot and kill anyone that came into his sights. It also happend in Colombine high school, where a student killed other innocent students and teachers before he took his own life. People also decide to take their own life when god has not decided it it is their time to die. People also kill each other in wars because of dictators or because of religion. Religious wars are the most intreguing because they are argueing over the right beleifs but both are not honering their religous commandments when they kill each other. There is not other commandment that is neglected more than "Thou shall not kill."
