The Meek

“Blessed are the meek, for shall they inherit the earth.” Although I respect Rob for his opinion in this matter, my personal opinions do not allow me to agree with him. In no way am I saying that it is not important but I believe it is not necessarily neglected. We as a nation can only do so much for the homeless. I, myself try to be mindful when I see the poor. In fact, a couple of my friends last year were in Philadelphia and came across a homeless man asking him for money. Instead of giving him money, we went to subway and bought him two sandwiches for him to eat now and later. There are homeless shelters and soup kitchens all over any large city. I would hate to say this, but unfortunately that is about the only thing we can do. What I am trying to say is that we are doing about as much as we can for the homeless as we can do. I am in no way undermining the importance of helping out the less fortunate but I believe there are more important teachings in Sermon on the Mount. The speaker only talked about this subject for one line only, ten words to be exact. Not saying that should how you should judge what matters, but there are other matters in which He goes in depth about. In conclusion, I am all for trying to help out the meek, or less fortunate but I believe there are more important teachings in Matthew 5-7.
