As human beings God gave us 10 commandments by which he wanted us to live, one of them being to honor your mother and father. While this may not seem like an important aspect of life, they are the ones who gave you that life to live. Without showing them respect and honoring them it is as if you are ungrateful for the amazing gift that they gave you. Most commonly not only do your parents give you life, but they nurture you and help you to grow, learn, and be happy. Your mother and father help you learn what gives life meaning and without their guidance life would be almost impossible. When you were learning to walk who held your hands until you had the strength to do It on your own, who fed you until you learned how to do it yourself, and who was always there for you to listen to your problems and help you through them. Without your mother and father life is truly difficult and you can see that through those whose parents left them or other such things.
While I admit I do fight with my parents, I do respect them and want them to be proud of me. I do think that this commandment is very important and should be followed more strictly. Many teenagers are easily angered and annoyed by their parents but they need to think of all that they’ve given them, and respect the authority and love that they have.
