Plead the Fifth
It seems to me that the most explicit and possibly simplest commandment that everyone gets wrong for one reason or another is that thou shalt not kill. It is mind blowingly simple, yet it astounds me how many religious figures who say that they will obey God at every term try to make excuses for killing people. Yes, well, this man stole my ox, therefore he should be condemned to die. No, it says thou shalt not kill, not that shalt not kill unless thou is in the army, at war, needs to prove a point, is punishing a crime etc. It is honestly ridiculous. I am not very religious and do not adhere to every commandment strictly but if I was basing my life in entirety off of these teachings I sure wouldn't leave something like that to chance. That is why it is ironic everytime someone kills some one else for religious reasons or in the "name of God". If one adheres to these rules and truly believes them then no matter what happens, if you are attacked, if you are at war, you cannot and do not have the authority to take a human life, no matter what justification you can stumble to come up with. But of course those who know the Bible will also tell me that it states the Hamarabi code of "an eye for an eye." That is true. Actually the quote is "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, vengence is mine says the LORD." The Bible states that revenge of this measure, but ONLY for God. It is not man's place to take vengence on others in the form of mortality. Though the 5th Amendment may not be the most important in others' eyes, it is the most important commandment that is constantly broken, especially because it is constantly broken in the name of the God whom made it. Every religion that has sprung from this book has at some point killed in the name of God, so I'm not trying to point anyone out, but it is a great hypocrisy.
